Yesterday Mumbai, India’s financial capital witnessed 10 simultaneous terrorist attacks. As the news reports are coming in, there are about a hundred dead including some foreign nationals. All except one of these attacks took place in South Mumbai at the crowded Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) railway station; two five-star hotels: the Oberoi Trident  at Nariman Point, and Taj Mahal Palace & Tower near the Gateway of India; the Leopold Café, a popular tourist restaurant in Colaba; the Cama Hospital; and the police  headquarters where at least three high-level officers, including chief of the Anti Terrorism Squad of Maharashtra, were killed by gunfire; some low intensity blast were reported in Ville Parle – Santa Cruz area too. We all grieve for those who lost their lives in these gruesome attacks.

Mumbai has been attacked again, and this time it is gruesome and directly targeted. This time these terrorist have come in open and have made mockery of our security systems.Where are our so called intelligence agencies?Police patrols?

Such attacks on public places is expected and every now and then they will keep coming back to Mumbai. What do the people do?

How many more deaths of innocent people are required to open eyes of our politicians? Why are we fighting internally for ownership of Mumbai? Instead of looking to make Mumbai a  Shanghai lets try and bring back the old Mumbai - a land of peace and harmony.
